The decision that had been sitting on the table for a year
Independent architecture practice, 6 people · Starter Pack
Where it started
The practice had a good, quiet problem: stay small and design-led, or take on a bigger commercial project that would mean hiring and changing what the studio actually was. The founder had been going back and forth on it for the best part of a year.
What we did
One session, no fluff: we laid out what each path actually meant for the studio's day-to-day, not just the revenue line. What became obvious fast was that the founder already knew the answer, and had just never written it down in a way that made it feel decided.
Where they landed
They turned the commercial project down, on purpose rather than by drift, and used the written plan to say yes to two smaller projects that actually fit. The relief of an actual decision, the founder said, was worth more than the session itself.
